The past ten years of business ownership in the Lehigh Valley have been some of the most fulfilling years of my life. When I started this business I did not envision the wealth of knowledge, experiences, and lessons I’d learn. The people I’d get to meet, the friends I’d get to make… the laughter, the joy, the heartache, the headaches, the excitement, the fear, the happiness, have all coexisted together, at some point or another here in Allentown and in Easton and everywhere a client traveled with their Organic Tans’ Custom spray tan.

I am beyond happy to have been a part of the growth in the Lehigh Valley’s Beauty industry and having had the opportunity to win Best Of The Valley since Best of The Valley first became a thing.

I’m pausing my business adventure to focus fully on graduate school and my academic life outside of salon ownership. What we went through collectively last year made me realize that a segment of our community needs better representation, sound policy, more attention. Over the past few months I’ve worked on research projects I could have never dreamed of; women’s access to healthcare, neighborhood planning, data sovereignty, food access, small business development, and inequality (to name a few.) I’ve had the opportunity to meet and talk to people who are working on projects that build community and empower people in ways I did not know were possible.

Not gonna lie, I still find enjoyment in doing spray tans, laughing too hard with clients at silly jokes and being part of someone’s special occasion, but not enough that it makes sense to keep an entire building dedicated to that.

See ya later gators!
